PURPOSE: A method for automatically opening and shutting a window for a vehicle and a device thereof are provided to interlock with a vehicle navigation system and automatically shut the window before passing through a tunnel. CONSTITUTION: A method for automatically opening and shutting a window for a vehicle comprises steps of calculating a possible tunnel entry point of time(S214); detecting a window opening state at a point of time before the time set from the possible tunnel entry point of time(S216); inquiring about user's approval of automatic window closing when the window is in an open state(S220); and closing the window if the user approves of automatic window closing(S222,S224). The method for automatically opening and shutting the window further comprises steps of detecting a ventilation mode at the point of time before the time set from the possible tunnel entry point of time and converting the ventilation mode into an internal ventilation mode if the user approves of the automatic window closing(S226). The method for automatically opening and shutting the window further comprises steps of deciding whether the vehicle has passed through a tunnel(S228); inquiring about user's approval of return to the window opening state detected before automatic window closing(S230); and returning the window to the opening state detected before automatic closing(S234).
