PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner of handy type whose cleaning performance and usability is raised. SOLUTION: In a vacuum cleaner which is provided with an electric blower chamber 6 which is attached with an electric blower 9, a vacuum cleaner body 2 equipped with a dust collection chamber 7 which communicates with the electric blower chamber 6, a nozzle 3 (a suction member) which is connected to the front end of the vacuum cleaner body 2 and a power supply portion 4 which is attached to the basic end of the vacuum cleaner body 2, and has the nozzle 3, the dust collection chamber 7, the electric blower chamber 6 and the power supply portion 4 arranged mostly on a straight line, the vacuum cleaner body 2 is provided with an enlarged part 8 whose outer diameter R1 is larger than the outer diameter R2 of the power supply portion 4, and in the enlarged part 8, an exhaust opening 12 for discharging the exhaust air from the electric blower 9 outside is formed.
