PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent corrosion from occurring on the medium sliding and touching surface of a magnetoresistance effect type magnetic head making a slidable contact with a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: A rust inhibitor film 50 including a carboxylic acid amine salt compound is formed on the medium sliding and touching surface 20a of a GMR head 20 for detecting a magnetic signal while making a slidable contact with a magnetic tape 3. Also, a top coat layer 64 and a back coat layer 65 formed from the same material as the rust inhibitor film 50 formed on the medium sliding and touching surface 20a of the GMR head 20 are formed on the surface of the magnetic tape 3, and the rust inhibitor film is copied on the medium sliding and touching surface 20a of the GMR head 20 which is brought into a slidable contact with the magnetic tape 30.
