<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relaying apparatus for performing load distribution or load redundancy that performs load distribution or load redundancy of the relaying apparatuses without the need for providing particular devices such as a load distributor or a frame multiplex section. <P>SOLUTION: A supervisory section 30 supervises states of other relaying apparatuses 100_1 to 100_n belonging to the same group, and a load distribution reception section 10 applies load distribution or load redundancy processing to received packets with respect to the other relaying apparatuses 100 on the basis of the state of the other relaying apparatuses 100.
