ELECTRIC BRAKE, ITS CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR ELECTRIC BRAKE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake device capable of certainly stopping a vehicle by retaining braking force in such a case where braking force retaining control is not carried out and the vehicle possibly moves along a slope when an ignition key switch is turned OFF on a midway of the slope and the vehicle is quickly stopped.

SOLUTION: The electric brake device is provided with a parking brake mechanism capable of retaining the braking force even when the ignition key switch (power source switch of the vehicle) is turned OFF. The parking brake mechanism is operated (retaining of the braking force) in the state where a brake pedal is stepped or a brake operation signal exists when the power source switch (ignition key switch) of the vehicle is turned OFF.
