PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier vapor deposition film useful as a packaging material for packaging foodstuffs, non-foodstuffs, medicines or the like, especially a gas barrier vapor deposition film improved in transparency and a gas barrier property and not generating damage such as a crack on the vapor deposited thin film even if any stress is added thereto in a post-treatment process and its original properties as the transparency or the gas barrier property is never spoiled. SOLUTION: In the film, on at least one side of a substrate formed of a plastic material and, a vapor deposited thin layer with a thickness of 5-300 nm made of an inorganic oxide, and a vapor deposited thin layer with a thickness of 10-500 nm made of an organic compound are laminated in order.
