<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of jamming caused by winding up a sheet sent between a photoreceptor and a transferring device, by the photoreceptor after transferring. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet transported from a plurality of sheet supply means 2, 3, 4 or the sheet transported on a sheet returning passage of a double-side printing unit 13 is sent to a transferring position P between the photoreceptor 16 and the transferring device 21 after being passed through the sheet transporting passages 5, 6 and a joining passage 7. The joining passage 7 is provided with a curling means 15 and a registration roller 14 successively from an upstream side in the sheet transporting direction. The curling means 15 is composed of a first roller 23 of a large diameter, made out of a soft material, and a second roller 24 of a small diameter, made out of a hard material. The first roller 23 and the second roller are pressed to each other to recess a first roller 23 side and to form a nip along an outer periphery of the second roller 24, so that the sheet is curled downward by the nip. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
