PURPOSE: A holder and insert having improved clamping force is provided to prevent the insert from being separated from the holder by clamping the insert to the holder with a clamp screw and a setscrew. CONSTITUTION: In a holder(100) including a holder body(200) and a fixing head(203), a pair of clamping jaws(201a,201b) are integrally formed at one end of the holder body. A recess(204) into which an insert(300) is inserted is formed between the clamping jaws. A screw insertion hole(208) is formed at the fixing head. A clamp screw(401) is inserted into the screw insertion hole. The upper part of the upper clamping jaw(201a) protrudes from the fixing head. A setscrew insertion hole(209) is formed at the front of the upper part of the upper clamping jaw. A setscrew(402) is inserted into the setscrew insertion hole.
