PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio capable of quantitatively evaluating the improvement of quality in reception. SOLUTION: A reception circuit 10 selects an evaluation mode in a mode selection circuit 16, supplies a demodulated digital signal 140 to an error generation section 18, uses specific timing supplied from a counter 18a for reversing the level of the digital signal 140 by an EXOR gate circuit 18b to generate an error state, and supplies a digital signal 18d containing error data to an error detection circuit 20 of a later stage and a data register 22 via the mode selection circuit 16. Under a stable reception state for preventing the occurrence of an error, the error data are periodically added for reproduction, and an abnormal sound suppression effect or the like in the reception circuit 10 is quantitatively evaluated.
