A method for the manufacture of a composition having high viscoelasticity and containing a sulfated polysaccharide and a protein which is characterized in including an extracting a sulfated polysaccharide from marine algae belonging to brown algae, at the temperature not higher than 50 degree C, with stirring at the rate not higher than 200 rpm. 2. A method for the manufacture of a composition having high viscoelasticity and containing a sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide and a protein, which is characterized in adding a protein to a solution of the sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide having a low viscoelasticity which is obtained from marine algae belonging to brown algae by the process applying a strong shearing force to the sulfated fucose containing polysaccharide, wherein isoelectric point of said protein is higher than the pH of said solution of the sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide and the amount of said protein is lower than the amount neutralizing total charge of said solution of the sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide. 3. A method of heightening a viscoelasticity of a sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide having a low viscoelasticity obtained from marine algae belonging to brown algae by the process applying a strong shearing force to the sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide, characterized in adding a protein to the solution of said sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide, wherein isoelectric point of said protein is higher than the pH of said solution of the sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide and the amount of said protein is lower than the amount neutralizing total charge of said solution of the sulfated-fucose containing polysaccharide. 4. A composition containing a sulfated polysaccharide and a protein which obtained by the method according to claim 1 or 2. 5. A sulfated polysaccharide having heightened viscoelasticity which obtained by the method according to claim 3.
