PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an adequate interpolated image without forming marks with different densities when the interpolated image is generated between tomographic images with use of the tomographic images added with round marks or the like at a position to be considered as an abnormal shadow existing in the tomographic image.

SOLUTION: A position of the interpolated image between the original images is determined (step 3) when one of original tomographic images (original image) to be used for generating the interpolated image is added with the round mark at the position to be considered as the abnormal shadow. A CT value of a pixel at the same position as that of an interpolated pixel is examined (step 4) when a CT value of the interpolated pixel of the interpolated image is determined. Whether or not one of the examined CT values is not less than a predetermined threshold value (a round mark of the CT value) is judged (step 5). The CT value is determined (step 6) as the CT value of the interpolated pixel in accordance with a ratio of distances from two original images and when the one CT value is not more than the threshold value. The round mark of the CT value is embedded (step 7) as it is as the CT value of the interpolated pixel when the one CT value is not less than the threshold value.
