<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target speed calculation device capable of calculating highly-accurate target speed in any traveling direction of a car on which the target speed calculation device is mounted. <P>SOLUTION: This target speed calculation device is equipped with a radar device 14 for measuring by a radar the relative speed Vr and the azimuthθr relative to the own car of the target in front of the own car, a vehicle speed sensor 20 for detecting the own car speed Vs, and a computing unit 12 for calculating the angleθformed between the own-car traveling direction and the target direction based on the target azimuthθr, and calculating the target speed Vo from the equation; Vo=Vs×cos(θr+θs)-Vr, based on the relative speed Vr, the car speed Vs and the angleθ. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
