Removable railing element for balconies comprises an upper flange that is milled from below to receive a filling. A slit (2) is milled from the under side on the outer edges (3) as a drainage edge. The outer edges are milled. The lower flange has on the under side similarly milled outer edges and drainage edges on the outer edges. The upper surfaces are angled and have a vertical edge for fixing the filling. The filling is inserted into the upper flange and fixed on the vertical edge of the lower flange. A corresponding elongated bore is provided at each end of the upper and lower flanges for receiving metal holders. The metal holders are mounted as a T-shape with a side plate in corresponding recesses in the posts. The element is fixed from below by screws to prevent possible removal. A covering board rounded at the top, milled on all four sides and having on the under side on both sides a groove as a drainage edge is fixed on the railing.
