Two shells (2, 3), one of them made of metal, the other of plastic, cannot be joined by welding and too much effort would have to be taken for gluing or flanging. The new method saves time and storage space: One of the shells (3) is provided with a straight extension (4) surrounding its edges. The second shell (2) is joined to the first shell (3) by bending its border first in order to be positioned parallel (6) to the extension (4) and around it in a second step (7) enveloping the extension (4) on two sides (6, 7).
