COLOR FILTER SUBSTRATE OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A color filter substrate of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for fabricating the color filter substrate are provided to form a black matrix on the color filter substrate without using a mask. CONSTITUTION: A transparent substrate(260) including pixel regions and a boundary region is prepared. A color filter(280) is formed on the transparent substrate such that the color filter has a groove corresponding to the boundary region. A transparent electrode(410) is formed on the color filter. An opaque organic material is coated on the transparent electrode using spin coating to flatten the surface of the substrate. The organic material layer is selectively removed such that the organic material is left only in the groove of the color filter. The organic material left in the groove of the color filter forms a black matrix(300).
