PROCESS FOR REFINING DICYCLOPENTADIENE FROM C5 AND C9+ DISTILLATES

PURPOSE: A process for refining a dicyclopentadiene(DCPD) from C5 and C9+ distillates is provided to prevent an apparatus blockage due to a coke generation in a thermo decomposition apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The process for refining a dicyclopentadiene(DCPD) from C5 and C9+ distillates comprises the steps of: vacuum distilling C5 distillate to obtain a dicyclopentadiene containing mixture(A); adding C9+ distillate(B) obtained by thermo decomposing a naphtha to (A) and thermo decomposing a total mixture(C); and dimerizing cyclopentadiene contained in the thermo decomposed total mixture(C) to obtain a high purity dicyclopentadiene.
