<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-treated organic pigment that has more excellent coloring characteristics in various kinds of applications such as a printing ink, a coating material, a colored molded article or the like in better productivity than the organic pigment produced by the conventional process. <P>SOLUTION: The process for preparing the surface-treated organic pigment comprises mixing two mixtures each comprising an organic pigment, an aqueous medium, rosins and/or derivatives of the organic pigment by conducting impingement mixing as a mixing technique. The impingement mixing is accomplished by using a mixer having a three-way tube like a T-tube such that the two mixtures are permitted to impinge upon each other in a head-to-head relation directly not bending the direction of the fluid streams of the mixtures within the flow path of the tube. The thus-obtained surface-treated organic pigment is mixed with a printing ink vehicle or the like to form a printing ink. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
