PURPOSE: An artificial satellite broadcasting signal receiving device using a PC(Personal Computer) is provided to process and output satellite broadcasting signals via software with a tuner and an MPACT(Multichannel Parallel Communications Technology) card installed inside the PC, so that an additional hardware device is not required. CONSTITUTION: A tuner board(21) installed inside a PC(20) tunes and demodulates artificial satellite broadcasting signals that are compressed and modulated in a digital method to generate compressed digital broadcasting signals. A controller of the PC(20) divides the compressed digital broadcasting signals into compressed digital video and audio signals and synchronizes the divided signals, and then extracts a required control signal. An MPACT card(22) installed inside the PC(20) decodes the divided and compressed digital video and audio signals, to respectively supply the decoded signals to a speaker(26) or a monitor(25). A PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) interface is in charge of the interface between the PC(20), the tuner board(21) and the MPACT card(22). The MPACT card(22) includes an MPACT block for decoding the compressed video and audio broadcasting signals into the original digital video and audio signals, an RAMDAC(Random Access Memory Digital-to-Analog Converter) for converting the decoded digital video signals into analog video signals to supply the converted video signals to the monitor(25), and an audio codec for converting the decoded digital audio signals into analog audio signals to supply the converted audio signals to the speaker(26).
