PURPOSE: A sealing method of a shock absorber and a washer used for the method are provided to improve the quality of the product by easily managing the tolerance of total length and preventing oil leakage. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber(100) is composed of an inner pipe(120) filled with oil, an outer pipe(110) placed outside the inner pipe and half filled with oil, and a piston rod(130) inserted to the inner pipe with moving up and down and extended outward. A rod guide(140) is fixed to the outer pipe to guide movement of the piston rod, and an oil seal(150) is press-fitted to the upper part of the rod guide to prevent oil leak. A washer(160) is placed in the upper part of the oil seal, and press-fitted to the inner top of the outer pipe. Axial force of the outer pipe is kept in pressing the washer. The washer is pressed by an electrode outside the outer pipe, and sealed by electric resistance welding. Plural protruded parts are arranged for electric resistance welding in the outer periphery of the washer.
