PURPOSE: An automatic speaker mode switching unit for a terminal is provided to enable a mobile terminal to be automatically switched to a speaker mode by using a magnetic sensor. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic sensor(110) senses a magnetic line of force from an external mounting stand, generates a sense signal by converting a magnetic force of the magnetic line of force into a voltage, and outputs the sense signal to an MSM(Mobile Station Modem)(120). The MSM(120) switches between a general mode and a speaker mode according to a logical step of the sense signal, activates a voice control signal in the speaker mode, and outputs it to an audio controller(130). The audio controller(130) is activated by the voice control signal, processes a voice signal, and outputs it to a speaker(140). The speaker(140) receives the voice signal and outputs it as a voice which a user can listen to.
