PURPOSE: A device for processing a software fault message of a switching system is provided to process a software fault message independently of a fault processing block by calling a fault library if a fault is detected from individual software blocks, thereby removing a possibility of danger generated by signal loss. CONSTITUTION: A fault library(50) retrieves a fault information DB(60) if a fault message output is requested, checks whether the fault message output is approved as checking whether a fault is effective, and transmits checked results. Many software blocks(30) receive a response to the fault message output by calling the fault library(50) when the fault is detected, and output a fault message to an operator terminal(70) if the fault message output is approved. A fault processing block(40) calls the fault library(50) at the request of a system operator, and reflects output suppressing/canceled state information and fault rank changed information on the fault information DB(60).
