PURPOSE: An electro-luminescent device including an anode of a low work function is provided to form a virtual electrode in an operating process by using an anode material having a relatively low work function. CONSTITUTION: An electro-luminescent device including an anode of a low work function includes a cathode(15), an anode(3), and a functional layer. The functional layer is formed between the cathode and the anode. The functional layer is formed with a predetermined chemical compound expressed by a chemical expression. A work function of an anode material is 3.5eV to 4.5eV. The predetermined chemical compound has a reduction level of -0.6V to 0V. The predetermined chemical compound is relatively stabilized under a reduction state in comparison with a neutral state.
