PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head capable of forming a high resolution image by reducing the nozzle pitch without causing any increase in the size or deterioration in the image forming speed, and to provide an ink jet printer comprising the ink jet recording head. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises an array of a plurality of head units 21 and 22 having nozzles 21a and 22a for ejecting ink drops wherein the nozzles 21a and 22a of the head units 21 and 22 are arranged obliquely to the arranging direction of the head units 21 and 22. The nozzles 21a and 22a are arranged obliquely to the relative scanning direction for a recording medium P at the time of image recording and a plurality of head units 21 and 22 are arranged along a diretion intersecting the scanning direction.
