PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head which performs stable discharge and enables high speed printing. SOLUTION: The ink jet head 10 is constituted so that an electrode 5 for external connection is formed so as to lead out the electrodes 8, which are formed to at least the inner walls of a plurality of the ink chambers 4 formed in the groove carved in a piezoelectric substrate 1, to an external drive circuit, a cover member 2 is bonded to the piezoelectric substrate 1 so as to cover a plurality of the ink chambers 4 and electrode protecting films for protecting the electrodes 8 are formed. The electrode 5 for external connection is formed to the rear end part of the piezoelectric substrate 1 on the side opposite to a nozzle connecting surface so as not to come into contact with ink and the electrode protecting films.
