<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic printer interfaced with a defect detection or scanning system, which inspects a photo paper sheet during consumption of the photo paper sheet by a printer to find a defect, and to provide a printing method. <P>SOLUTION: In this system and method, upon the detection of a defect, the printer is enabled to skip the defect area, or alternatively an image influenced by the defect is reprinted. When a defect has been found, either a defect mark such as a punch for providing a physical mark on the paper sheet near the defect, or an electronic apparatus capable of transmitting an accurate defect position to a printing part is used. The printer recognizes a hole or an electronic signal, and the printer is enabled to skip the defect frame, or alternatively the image is reprinted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
