PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersant for hydraulic composition for obtaining a stable concrete product which has low viscosity of mortar in spite of a low W/P, has flow properties of concrete within short period of time after kneading stable against fluctuation in concrete temperature, good filling properties and facilitates quality control. SOLUTION: The dispersant for the hydraulic composition contains a copolymer (I) having (a) an alkylene glycol ether monomeric unit expressed by specific general formula, (b) one or more carboxylic acid monomeric units selected from maleic anhydride, maleic acid, maleate, and (c) a specific ratio of a half ester monomeric unit of the one or more carboxylic acid monomeric units selected from the maleic anhydride, maleic acid, maleate, and the alkylene glycol compound expressed by the specific general formula.
