PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut the foliage portion 3a of a root vegetable crop 3, such as garlic, pulled out from the ground into short pieces to efficiently facilitate the plowing-in of the foliage 3a with tilling tines. SOLUTION: This root vegetable crop harvester equipped with a root vegetable-transporting means A for pulling out a root vegetable crop 3 from the ground, transporting the root vegetable crop 3 to an upper specific height position and further transporting the root vegetable crop 3 in the approximately horizontal direction during the travel of the machine frame 2 and with a foliage portion cutter 18 for cutting the foliage portion 3a of the root vegetable crop 3 at a specific cutting height position of the foliage portion 3a during the transportation of the root vegetable crop 3 with the root vegetable-transporting means A, is characterized by disposing an additional cutter 19 for cutting the upper position of the foliage portion 3a than the above-described specific cutting position of the foliage portion 3a transported with the root vegetable-transporting means A on the upper side of the foliage portion cutter 18.
