<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for greatly reducing particulate substance that exhaust gas in a diesel engine contains. <P>SOLUTION: In this method for reducing the particulate substance that exhaust gas exhausted from a diesel burn engine contains and is composed of carbon system solid component and organic solvent soluble component covering it, the organic solvent soluble component and oxygen are mutually reacted under the presence of catalyst to oxidize the organic solvent soluble component, plasma is generated in exhaust gas to generate plasma excitation kind, and the carbon system solid component is oxidized by the plasma excitation kind. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
