<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper limb support device adapted to either paralysis of left/right limbs when supporting a unilaterally paralyzed upper limb, reducing vibration produced in erecting and walking actions, preventing the dislocation and the subluxation of the shoulder joint and retaining the rest and support of the shoulder joint. <P>SOLUTION: This upper limb support device can be adapted to the lesion side upper limb by connecting a detachable waist belt 2 to the bottom part of a bag-shaped body 1 having opened both ends and formed into a cylindrical shape, and connecting a shoulder belt 3 to either of left/right sides of the bag-shaped body. Its installation orders are as follows; the waist belt is made to round along the waist and one hook-and-loop fastener 10 is connected and fastened to the other hook-and-loop fastener 9 while adjusting the length on the hook-and-loop fasteners provided on the both ends; the lesion side upper limb is inserted in the bag-shaped body; the shoulder belt connected to the lesion side of the bag-shaped body is made to pass ttrough the lesion-side shoulder, made to diagonally downward cross the back and round from the healthy side armpit to the front side; while finely adjusting its length by a buckle 13 provided in the front breast part, hook-and-loop fasteners 11 and 12 which are provided in the both sides of the belt are connected to each other to be used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
