PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device of a ball screw nut for cooling a ball screw nut driving a movable body of a machine tool and generating heat, without a solenoid valve control device controlling supply of cooling fluid by detecting movement of a movable body. SOLUTION: An air chamber having an air supply/exhaust port is disposed on an outer circumference of the ball screw nut. Cooling air is fed through a pipe by an air supply means interlocking with advance/retreat of the movable body to supply compressed air to the air chamber. After the cooling air absorbs radiation heat from the outer circumference of the ball screw nut and a temperature of the cooling air is increased, the air is exhausted through the pipe. If a heat generation amount of the ball screw nut is large, a water retention material is provided in the air chamber, and water supplied from a water tank provided in the movable member is vaporized in the air chamber to take the heat from the ball screw nut by the vaporization heat, and then is exhausted together with the supplied compressed air.
