摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured, low-cost rotation monitor for a belt-driven encoder. SOLUTION: This rotation monitor is used for the absolute encoder 4 driven via a belt 3 by an output shaft 2 of a motor 1. The monitor 7 comprises a waveform generating circuit 9 for generating certain periodical and repetitive waveforms by using an arbitrary 2-bit waveform among output signals from the encoder 4, a pulse generating circuit 10 for generating pulses of desired cycles, an AND circuit 18 for counting the repetitive waveforms generated by the generating circuit 10, calculating a logical product by using the repetitive waveforms generated by the generating circuit 9 and operation command signals to the motor 1, and issuing reset signals in a certain cycle based on the calculated logical product, and a counter circuit 11 reset by the reset signal to issue an alarm signal for determining an anomaly if a certain count value is exceeded.
