PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a quality improver for cut flowers, which improves the appearance of cut flowers, has life prolongation effect, is highly safe and is inexpensive, and to provide a method for improving the qualities of cut flowers. SOLUTION: The quality improver for cut flowers comprises a saccharide composition containing at least one kind selected from maltotriose, maltotetraose, maltopentaose and their reduced substances. The saccharide composition preferably contains≥30 mass % of at least one kind selected from the maltotriose, the maltotetraose, the maltopentaose and their reduced substances and preferably contains another saccharide. The method for improving qualities of cut flowers comprises diluting the quality improver with water to prepare an aqueous solution and bringing the aqueous solution into contact with the cut flowers by immersing the cut ends of the cut flowers in the aqueous solution or spraying the cut flowers with the aqueous solution.
