PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for selecting a human monoclonal antibody having a cancer cell proliferation-inhibiting activity. SOLUTION: The method for obtaining a human monoclonal antibody having a cancer cell proliferation-inhibiting activity or a fragment thereof comprises bringing a monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof into contact with a human vimentin or a human vimentin fragment containing at least a region wherein the amino acid sequence residue numbers are 246-372, thereby selecting a human monoclonal antibody or the fragment thereof specifically bonding to the the region wherein the amino acid residue numbers of the amino acid sequence of the human vimentin are 246-372.
