<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing head which suppresses the irregularity of a moving average, reduces the irregularity of the quantity of light of a light emitting element of each dot and further reduces the irregularity of an image formed by a recording head. <P>SOLUTION: The printing head 1 has a memory 8 in which correction values for uniformizing the quantities of light of the light emitting elements 7 are stored. The error S between the output value after the correction of the light emitting element 7 adjacent to the light emitting element 7 to be corrected and a target value is calculated and an error value (S×K) obtained by multiplying the error S by a correction factor K is added to the output value of the light emitting element 7 to be corrected to calculate an output addition value. Correction resolving power of one stage or one or more stages is added to and substracted from the output addition value to select correction resolving power P nearest to the target value and the selected correction resolving power P is stored in the memory as the correction value of an image element to be corrected.
