PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device for displaying a recommending route easily to see for a user even when a moving body travels on a road frequently or suddenly changing in the proceeding direction. SOLUTION: In this navigation device, a route searching part 101 derives the recommending route up to a target point from a starting point. A present position deriving part 102 periodically derives a present position of the moving body. A direction determining part 104 calculates the directional of a map to be displayed this time from a plurality of points selected this time by selecting the plurality of points on the recommending route when the moving body is positioned on the recommending route. A plotting part 105 makes a recommending route-superimposed map image in a RAM 9 according to the direction of the map determined by the direction determining part 104. The map for allowing an average coordinate value of this time to come just above the present position of the moving body, is displayed on an image screen of a display device 3 by the map image made in this way.
