<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which the radiation loss of a heat roller and a pressure roller due to a convection is suppressed and the power consumption of the device at a standby time is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device is provided with: a fixing belt 2 trained over a heat roller 5 at the upper section of the belt and over a pressure member 1 at the lower section; and the pressure roller 3 arranged under the fixing belt 2. In the standby mode, the heat roller 5 is shifted downward, and separated from the fixing belt 2, and surrounded by the fixing belt 2. And also, the pressure roller 3 is shifted downward, and separated from the fixing belt 4, and almost surrounded by the fixing belt 2 and an enclosure 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
