<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inflator for an air bag that concentrates a direction of gas emission to one direction toward an air bag, prevents the inflater from flying away because of a malfunction before an installation onto the vehicle, and allows connection of the air bag and the inflator easily and assuredly. <P>SOLUTION: This inflator for an air bag includes a gas emission component 20 having a ring portion where a plurality of first gas exhaust ports 22 are formed and a diffuser member 40 that is attached detachably only in the vicinity of the first gas exhaust ports, and the diffuser member 40 having a passage forming component 50 where one or more second gas exhaust ports 45 are formed eccentrically on a part of a circumferential direction to exhaust gas within a passage 46 to a radial direction of the inflater housing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
