TIME BASE ERROR DETECTOR AND TIME BASE ERROR CORRECTING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time base error detector for outputting no erroneous error information in the case of detecting a time base error by using the trialing edge of a pulse of a horizontal synchronizing signal. SOLUTION: The time base error detector is provided with: a velocity error detection section for obtaining an error of an interval between the horizontal synchronizing signals of a video signal with respect to a reference interval of the horizontal synchronizing signals and providing an output of the error as a velocity error; an integration section for integrating a value in response to the velocity error by each clock pulse; a control signal generating section for generating a control signal denoting whether or not it is in a prescribed scanning line period and outputting the control signal; a logic gate for providing an output of the integration section when the control signal denotes the prescribed scanning line period or providing no output when it does not denote; and an adder for adding an output of a holding section and an output of the logic gate and providing an output of the sum.
