PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the rates of accelerated weathering degradation, to reproduce intensity of a natural accelerated weathering apparatus and the actual light spectra of the natural sunlight, to which test specimens are actually exposed in everyday use, and to provide a more realistic set of data results. SOLUTION: The accelerated weathering apparatus 20 of the type used to concentrate solar radiation upon test samples includes a frame 26 for supporting a reflecting solar concentrator 28 disposed mutually facing a target board, a channel being connected to the target board, and a cover for defining a chamber. A fluid source is in communication with the chamber, whereby a fluid introduced into the chamber reacts with the test specimens, so as to cause degradation of the test specimens during exposure to concentrated solar radiation to be accelerated.
