<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which can reproduce a CD, a CD-R, a DVD by adding parts of the minimum. <P>SOLUTION: This device is an optical pickup device for reproducing recorded information from a first optical recording medium in which distance from a surface of an optical recording medium to an information recording plane is the first prescribed distance and a second optical recording medium in which the distance is the second prescribed distance being different from the first prescribed distance. The device is characterized by being provided with a first power source, a second power source, an an objective lens for converging a first light beam on the information recording plane of the first optical recording medium and for converging a second light beam on the information recording plane of the second optical recording medium, and an aberration compensating means arranged in the first and second light source and the objective lens, compensating aberration caused in the second light beam caused by that the second prescribed distance is different from the first prescribed distance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
