PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the stagnation of air in a drying apparatus for drying an undried sheet-like material during transportation. SOLUTION: This drying apparatus comprises a box body 11 allowing the sheet-like material 9 to pass the inside thereof and having an inlet port 1311 and an outlet port 112 provided at positions apart from each other in the passing direction of the sheet-like material 9, a supply means 15 supplying heated air to the inlet port 1311, an exhaust means 17 exhausting air in the box body 11 through the outlet port 112, a plurality of pressure gauges 18 measuring a pressure in the box body 11 and distributed in the passing direction, and a means 19 monitoring based on the results of the measurement by the plurality of pressure gauges 18 whether or not the pressure in the box body 11 is gradually lowered from the inlet port 1311 toward the outlet port 112.
