PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping body for a mop which can increase the working efficiency of wiping. SOLUTION: For the wiping body 1 for the mop, wiping surface parts 12 (14) and 13 (15) comprising a thread 4 are formed between handle harness parts 2A and 2B in such a manner that the thread 4 reciprocates between a pair of the handle harness parts 2A and 2B being arranged in parallel numerous times while sewn (stitches 6 and 6) on respective handle harness parts 2A and 2B. Then, an approximately central part (one-dot chained line R) between the handle harness parts 2A and 2B in the wiping surface parts 12 (14) and 13 (15) is folded back as a folding back part 11, and a pair of the handle harness parts 2A and 2B are detachably superposed. The wiping body 1 for the mop is constituted in such a manner that a pair of the superposed handle harness parts 2A and 2B are integrally pinched by a pinching tool of a mop handle.
