A process for setting polyamide textiles comprises treating the material at or near boiling with an aqueous solution of a synthetic organic surface-active substance in a concentration of at least 10 g. per litre. The material treated may be filaments or yarns, which may be dried so that a deposit of the substance is left to confer an anti-static property, or fabrics or articles may be treated. Treated garments may be subsequently treated for shape setting with saturated steam at 110 DEG to 120 DEG C. and further heat-set at 130-140 DEG C. The surface-active substance may be an alkyl sulphate, alkyl sulphonate, ethylene oxide condensation product, fatty acid-albumen condensation product or an alkyl-aryl sulphonate. The treating liquor may also contain an alkali, a salt or mixture of salts having an alkaline reaction or a mineral or carboxylic acid.ALSO:A process for setting polyamide textiles comprises treating the material at or near boiling with an aqueous solution of a synthetic organic surface-active substance in a concentration of at least 10 g. per litre.
