<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball outstanding in both flying performance and control performance. <P>SOLUTION: This golf ball 1 is provided with a core 2 and a cover 3. The core 2 comprises a center 4 and an intermediate layer 5. A large number of dimples 6 are formed on the surface of the cover 3. A base material polymer of the cover 3 is mainly composed of polyurethane-based thermoplastic elastomer. The Shore D hardness of the cover 3 is 30 to 55, and the surface area occupancy rate Y of the dimples 6 is 75% or more.
