摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of a photosetting sealant on a substrate before bonding. SOLUTION: A fiber 11 for ultraviolet ray irradiation is attached to the sealant discharge nozzle 10 of a sealant application device 1. An irradiation position of the fiber 11 is set to coincide with the discharge position of the sealant discharge nozzle 10 toward an array substrate 2. The sealant S is applied in a frame shape along the outer circumference of the array substrate 2 with the sealant discharge nozzle 10 which is moving relatively on the array substrate 2. Simultaneously, the ultraviolet ray from the fiber 11 irradiates the sealant S so as to preliminarily harden only the surface of the sealant S immediately after its application. Thereby flow of the sealant S or detachment of a sealant component after application is suppressed and further contact of a liquid crystal to be supplied thereafter with the unhardened sealant S is also suppressed.
