DATA STORAGE MEDIA AND ITS RECORDING AND REGENERATING METHOD

PURPOSE: A data storage media and its recording and regenerating method are provided to maintain a format consistency with a conventional record media and to make synchronization patterns different so that it discriminates a user data area from a value additional data area. CONSTITUTION: The data storage media includes a user data area(C), a value additional data area(D), the first synchronization patter(13) and the second synchronization pattern(23). The user data area(C) stores the user data. The value additional data area(D) is positioned before or after the user data area(C). The second synchronization pattern(23), used in the value additional data area(D), is different from the first synchronization pattern(13), used in the user data area(C).
