The asphaltic bitumen is formed by a stable mixture of bitumen and polymeric gel, presenting at least 80 per cent by weight of bitumen. The polymeric gel is prepared by a mixture of polymer and oil. The mixture is then mixed with bitumen in the liquid state and is employed for making binding products for road surfaces.
