PURPOSE: A device for monitoring an ATM cell in an SVC(Switched Virtual Connection) is provided to count and store ATM cells according to SVC virtual path/virtual channel information registered for a specific message, thereby confirming whether communication between a base station and a control station is normally performed as retrieving data. CONSTITUTION: A cell generator(310) generates ATM cells. A cell transceiver(330) routes the ATM cells, and counts and stores specific ATM cells. A routing information manager(350) manages virtual paths/virtual channels of an SVC, and transmits the virtual paths/virtual channels to the cell transceiver(330). The cell transceiver(330) comprises as follows. A CPU(331) registers virtual path/virtual channel information of the SVC in TX CAMs(Contents Addressable Memories)(342,343). An FPGA router(333) compares the virtual paths/virtual channels of the ATM cells with the virtual paths/virtual channels stored in the CAMs(342,343), transmits the ATM cells by converting the virtual paths/virtual channels if the virtual paths/virtual channels are equal, and counts/stores the routed specific ATM cells.
