Display method for information in remote unit, e.g. on vehicles or public transport location, uses information display segments sent from central unit via wireless network

A number of information display segments (e.g. images, video frames or animations) are stored in a remote unit and each segment is accessed via a unique reference. A set of commands comprising a number of selected display segments is sent from a central unit to the remote unit in the form of symbol information via a wireless network, and the set is then deciphered in the remote unit in order to produce the selected display segments for display with the chosen properties on a display unit. An Independent claim is also included for a mobile phone device used to display information using this method.
