SPOOL FOR WINDING OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE: A spool for winding optical fiber is provided to reduce assembly processes and improve productivity by welding flanges of the spool with an ultrasonic welding machine. CONSTITUTION: A spool for winding optical fiber is composed of first and second cylindrical barrels(201,301) on which the optical fiber is wound, and first and second disk-shaped flanges(200,300). The first and second flanges protrude from the first and second barrels, respectively, and restrain the wound optical fiber. Ultrasonic welding contact points(400) are formed at the first and second barrels. The first and second flanges are welded to each other along the contact points by an ultrasonic welding machine(500).
